Not much is happening in the election campaign right now and the things that do happen don't seem to have much impact.
This is an eight week campaign, but by the time the holidays are over there will only be three weeks left.
It seems like all the policy announcements, press releases and debates are doing nothing more than preparing the path for real action come January.
Or, at least the opposition parties ought to hope. The other way to look at it is that Harper (for example) has unloaded a lot of good ideas without getting much attention. Maybe everyone made up their mind in the last election campaign and this whole exercise is a waste.
Anyway, barring a real surprise, we're still in the pre-season and waiting for the real action in January.
