Last night City Council voted along with David Miller to express the city's wish to cancel the bridge to the island airport. I'm now counting on Paul Martin to follow through on his earlier remarks and bring this thing to an end.
It sounds like it was a long, dramatic day at City Hall, but the pro-bridge opponent was not only out-numbered but out-maneuvered. I actually wish I could have gone down there to watch it, but I had a full day of work. The Armchair Garbageman got to see some of the chaos in the cafeteria.
It sounds like Councillors Case Ootes and Giorgio Mammoliti were the leaders of the opposition on this one. Some of their arguments that I heard through the media were pretty pathetic.
