For this blog I have had to make choices about the scope of coverage I want to focus on. I've decided to cover mainly domestic issues, and particularly local ones. This doesn't mean I'm not interested in other issues or that they're not important.
Also, I don't even get around to writing something about every important issue within the area I want to focus on. Sometimes I don't have anything to add, so I don't say anything at all. Among these issues are the William Sampson case and the Maher Arar case.
Today a new chapter was added to the foreign affairs file. Abdul Kadhr returned to Canada and gave a press conference in which he commented on his training in Afghanistan, his capture by the Americans, his imprisonment at Guantanamo Bay, and his difficult return to Canada (via Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, and Bosnia).
